Monte and Julie still live in Queen Creek. He has been a Bishop in a couple of different Wards here, and is currently the Queen Creek East Stake Young Men’s President. He is also still on the Queen Creek School Board, and is a Partner in a land management company, Scythe and Spade, all of which keep him very busy. He spent countless hours and time this past year talking to and working with prospective buyers of our farm, with our tax attorney, preparing for the sale, and later finding farms for Pop to replace our farm with. There’s no way we can comprehend all he has done, or does, for the family… and no way we can adequately express our thanks to him for all his work, attention, sacrifice and patience.
Julie is also very busy with Church work, taking classes at Chandler Gilbert Community School, remodeling the outside (and inside) of her home on Cloud Road, and taking care of her family. She had been in the Presidency of the Stake Young Women in her stake before their Ward was put back into the QC East Stake where she now serves as Family Relations teacher, I think…positions change so quickly it’s hard to keep track of everyone!
Alan has been going to the University of Arizona in Tucson, and is planning to continue there in the Fall. He is currently working at Home Depot in Tucson. Rachelle graduated from Northern Arizona University and took a “breather” this summer by taking a trip to Europe with Julie. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience and in the Fall she will continue her education at BYU, where she will be working on her Master’s. She will also be competing for BYU on their track team, throwing…(her sport’s specialty!) She will be living with Nicole, who has been there a year already and has done great things in Track, and has helped BYU win many track meets with her outstanding speed and hurdling talents and abilities. Her picture or name has been in the Salt Lake and BYU papers many times. She has brought honor and fame to the Nevitt name. Thanks, Nicole! Good luck to you and Rachelle next year!
Jensen will be a Junior at Queen Creek High and will continue sharing his sport’s talents on the football team as the quarterback. Lyndee will be a Freshman there, and will undoubtedly share her many talents, both in volleyball, basketball, piano and violin playing, sewing, smiling and who knows what else. She’s a many talented girl.
They built a beautiful swimming pool in their back yard this year and it has been a refreshing, cool escape from the sweltering heat this summer for all our family, neighbors and friends. Thanks for sharing and making us all feel welcome, Nevitts! And thank YOU, Monte, for all the cook-outs, barbeques, breakfasts, tail-gate barbeques, etc. you’ve cooked for all the family, Church, and community for years. You’re the best cook in the community! Your famous “Monte burgers” just keep getting better and better!
